Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed. / BTC)
Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), formerly known as Basic Teachers Certificate (BTC), is a 2-year professional teacher preparation programme specifically designed for in-service and pre-service educators working in primary and upper primary schools.
The programme framework aligns with the directives of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD / Ministry of Education), keeping in view the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), the Right to Education Act (RTE), and NCFTE standards. The curriculum aims at enabling student teachers to develop essential pedagogy, communication skills, learning assessment abilities, and psychological acumen to make teaching-learning impactful and child-centered.
Foundational Pedagogy
Emphasis on early childhood care, foundational literacy, numeracy development, and joyful learning techniques.
Practice Teaching & Internship
Extensive hands-on practice in affiliated government and recognized primary schools in Basti district.
Teaching-Learning Material (TLM)
Workshops on creating low-cost, innovative TLMs to simplify complex concepts for young learners.
UP TET & CTET Orientation
Special orientation sessions preparing candidates for competitive teacher eligibility examinations.
Eligibility & Admission Procedure
Eligibility: Candidates possessing a Bachelor's Degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., or equivalent) from any recognized university with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
Admission Process: Admissions are conducted through the state-level merit list and online centralized counseling conducted by the Examination Regulatory Authority (PNP, Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh.
